TEMPERATURE

A thermometer is an instrument that measures temperature. The three most common units of measurement for temperature are Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin. We can calibrate and repair most types of thermometer over a wide temperature range. We also supply thermometers from several UK manufacturers.

Calibration baths are fitted with a thermostatically controlled heating element which, with the help of a liquid, supply a stable temperature source to enable the calibration of thermometers, temperature switches and any temperature device that can be used with liquids. We can calibrate, repair and supply a wide range of calibration baths.

Dry block calibrators are instruments that provide a temperature source when calibrating instruments such as RTDs, thermocouples and temperature devices not suitable for liquid use. We offer models of both calibration baths and dry blocks for different temperature ranges and performance requirements. We can also repair and supply these items.

Data loggers are electronic devices which automatically monitor and record environmental parameters over time, allowing conditions to be measured, documented, analysed and validated. The data logger contains a sensor to receive the information and a computer chip to store it. We calibrate, repair and supply a vast array of temperature data loggers.

Thermistors are temperature-dependent resistors, changing resistance with changes in temperature. Highly sensitive and reactive to very small changes in temperature, they are best used when a specific temperature needs to be maintained and when monitoring temperatures within 50°C of ambient.  A thermocouple is a sensor that measures temperature. It consists of two different types of metals, joined together at one end. When the junction of the two metals is heated or cooled, a voltage is created that can be correlated back to the temperature. We can calibrate, repair and supply a wide range of thermocouples.

Humidity meters, otherwise known as hygrometers, measure the quantity of water vapour in the air.
